AREA MANAGER, Fashion
(South West) Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Wiltshire, Gloucester, Hereford to Hampshire
Do you want to join an expanding seasonal retail business who are now adding this new role of Area Manager, covering a number of their site in the South West
Reports to: Head of Fashion we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Regional Manager This position will manage the South West area for Fashion; store locations range from Plymouth to Worcester so you should be based within this region.
• You are responsible for driving profit optimisation and ensuring commercial and creative retail standards are maintained.
• You will evaluate trade using key performance indicators and identify areas to improve your area performance.
• You will contribute to business development strategies to ensure long-term success.
• Provide insight, influence, leadership and mentoring to your area stores
• You will undertake cost management to ensure stores are profitable and stay within budget.
• Be accountable as well as hold your stores accountable for overall performance e.g. customer service, people, and day-to-day operations.
• You will ensure compliance with the company’s policies and operational guidelines as well as being responsible for carrying out people processes’ e.g. Disciplinaries, Investigations etc., under guidance from our HR Department.
• You will be responsible for the growth of your team in terms of recruitment and training along with succession planning to meet operational and commercial objectives.
• Travel across your area engaging with your team.
• Manage personal time and productivity, according to company requirements.
• You will provide innovative and practical commercial solutions, improving merchandising to drive profit and customer experience.
• Provide exemplary internal communication within your area and with our team of Regional Managers, working collaboratively and flexibly within the Fashion team framework
• There will be a lot of travel in the region and some beyond, and you need to be willing to be away from home for both national meetings and between one or two nights per week when visiting your stores, depending on geographical location.
About You
Have a creative and entrepreneurial attitude towards retailing.
2-5 years of Regional Manager experience with a proven track record.
Be able to recognise and act on sales opportunities.
Be meticulous in detail in terms of product placement, standards, presentation, visual elevation and overall look and feel.
Be an inspirational leader for centre staff ensuring they receive clear direction and performance management within a culture of coaching and mentoring.
Positive and strong communicator and a skilled motivational people manager
