Job Description

SEN Learning Support Assistant (SEMH) - Northamptonshire

TimePlan Education are currently recruiting Teaching Assistants and SEN Learning Support Assistants for a Secondary SEN School in Northampton (NN1).

In this role you will be supporting pupils with SEMH throughout their education. We are looking for SEN professionals who have been around children and young people. Someone who has experience with Autism, whether that be within their own friends and family, or in their current role working in a school.

This role would also be great for someone who wants to move from the care industry with adults to working with SEMH students in schools. We are happy to speak to anyone who feels confident working with young students with ASD, candidates who have worked in mainstream schools, youth clubs, or just finished college / uni and ready to start a new full time role that is rewarding where all training is provided on the job. You will attend the first day induction and if successful, continue on a long-term basis for the next academic year.

Successful applicants must have:

- Experience working with young people/working with children

- A UK DBS or willing to undertake one.

- Ability to work 5 days a week minimum

Ideally you will have:

Experience in supporting pupils in a classroom environment, with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
The ability to demonstrate active strong communication skills
Patience
A desire to establish positive relationships with pupils and understanding their needs
