My client is a leading independent firm of chartered accountants offering forward-thinking accounting solutions to a wide range of multi-disciplined customers. Utilising the latest cloud-based solutions they provide audit, accounts, taxation, and business advisory services to a diverse client portfolio operating in a wide range of business sectors.

As the practice continues to expand its footprint across the Yorkshire region and in line with strategic growth plans the need has arisen to expand the management team with the appointment of an experienced Account Manager geographically covering Scarborough, Bridlington, Driffield, Malton, Pickering and York in North Yorkshire.

About the role

* Manage an existing portfolio of clients and develop new business, utilising effective client management and networking opportunities to promote the firm in the local business community.

* Reviewing accounts prepared by other members of the team and clearing all review points to partner level; this will include work on companies, partnerships, and sole traders.

* Be the face of the business at networking events within North Yorkshire and surrounding areas.

* Seek referrals from businesses and connections with whom the business already has a relationship.

* Identify and develop new business opportunities.

* Promote efficiencies and best practice to the Partners and Senior Management Team.

Candidate Profile

* Strategic thinking, qualified accountant (ACCA or ACCA).

* Detailed knowledge of current accounting standards, legislation and business tax rules and regulations.

* Minimum of twelve months post qualification experience managing a team and client portfolio.

* Comfortable to represent the business and attend seminars, conferences, and events where appropriate.

* Confident self-starter who thrives on business development and achieving results

* Commercially astute with margin achievement at the forefront of all pricing negotiations.

* Relevant examples of new business gains and referrals from existing clients

* Strong networking experience and skills, comfortable in promoting and presenting the business to potential clients.

* Process driven to maximise revenues with tenacity and drive to seek new business.

* Excellent and proven communication skills
