TEP’s Governor Services Team empowers governors and school leaders across all educational phases by providing a robust program of training, guidance, and support to foster strong and effective governance. The Role

TEP are offering a fantastic opportunity that supports any individuals seeking a professional administrative support role that can be carried out around other commitments. It offers the chance for candidates who demonstrate a strong professional experience the opportunity to work in a more flexible capacity.

In this pivotal role, you will provide vital administrative and organisational support to Governing Bodies, Trust Boards, and Management Committees on behalf of The Education People Clerking Service.

You will be responsible for ensuring that the boards understand and adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, highlight potential consequences for non-compliance and advise on procedural matters, all whilst fostering best practices of Trust governance.

Key Duties:

Contribute to and influence the effectiveness of the governing board by keeping informed on national and local governance initiatives and developments in governance, to drive school improvement and to deliver the best outcomes for all pupils.

Organise meeting dates, write agenda in collaboration with the chair of governors and headteacher.

Collect supporting documents and distribute with an agenda.

Attend meetings, give professional advice on governance procedural aspects, and take minutes.

Write minutes for chair's approval and send to governors.

Carry out administrative tasks relating to keeping governors' names and business interest details up to date.

Support, administer and advise for any required panel process as received to the governing board.

Be the professional adviser by helping the board understand its role and legal duties so that it functions efficiently and effectively.
What we need from you

Strong IT literacy and experience using MS packages

Experience of administrative support and acumen

Excellent time-management and organisational skills

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

Excellent attention to detail

Ability to self-motivate and work well independently, as well as part of a team
