Force Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of one of our very successful clients who provide specialist pipework installations as well as major Civils works for projects nationwide. They have experienced a period of sustained growth hence are looking for an Works/Production Manager to join the team on a permanent basis.


• Managing a busy fabrication facility.

• Ensuring that each project meets its targets in terms of quality and customer satisfaction.

• Demonstrate management experience in both Steel and Pipe Fabrication

• Organising and taking a leading role with the fabrication projects; plan, allocate and supervise the workforce to execute works in accordance with the project programme.

• Required to manage and monitor the works to ensure compliance with our client’s specifications.

• Required to liaise with both our own and our client’s operation staff to ensure the works are undertaken to everyone’s satisfaction.

• Required to maintain records / diaries and actively support the resolution of all fabrication issues.

• Implement our positive health, safety & environmental regime at all times, deliver HS&E toolbox talks in collaboration with our HS&E Manager.

• Required to build positive and productive working relationships with our clients; delivering excellent customer service and seeking ways to continuously improve and exceed expectations.

• Required to check quality, health and safety standards and correct where required.

• Motivate team members to achieve predetermined goals and targets.

• Ensure a high standard of housekeeping is maintained at our works facility

Skills and Knowledge:

• Minimum of a HNC / HND in mechanical engineering or equivalent and at least five years' experience of working in an engineering role.

• Experience of working to Quality Management Systems ISO 9001.

• Knowledge & experience of working to ISO 3834 and BS EN 1090 management systems.

• Leadership, management, and ability to organise effectively with good time management skills.

• A working knowledge of project management tools such as planning using Microsoft project would be an advantage.

• A successful track record of delivering projects on time and to budget, whilst meeting the customer's technical expectations.

• Ability to read and review piping, structural and civil drawings.

• Experience in project engineering and the management of design

• Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

• Ability to work effectively in a deadline-oriented and fast-paced team environment, and also to provide strong leadership.

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Proven track record in completing risk assessments and writing method statements

• Ability to carry out site surveys, obtain accurate measurements and produce drawings

• Problem solving • Planning lifting operations of heavy steel and pipe.

• CSCS Qualification or similar in Slinging / Signaler.

• Good commercial awareness.

• Production of detailed daily fabrication diaries.
