Job DescriptionROLE OVERVIEW //We are recruiting for a Knowledge Paralegal (Debt Capital Markets and Securitisation) to join the Financing Department.Our Financing practice acts for a broad range of clients and handles a variety of types of work rather than specialising in one small area. This includes loan finance, debt capital markets, securitisation, derivatives and restructuring and insolvency.This role will be focused on debt capital markets and securitisation work. You will be working closely alongside the PSLs in the stream but may also be liaising with partners and associates across the Financing Stream as a whole.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES //The key responsibilities of this role are set out below and there may be others which are not listed. You may be required on occasion to work outside our normal working hours of 9:30am to 5:30pm.Monitoring legal and market developmentsAssisting with the DCM and securitisation market and regulatory updatesSupporting business development initiativesLegal and market researchUpdating the practice intranet siteGathering know-how and precedents and uploading to the know how systemsOrganising team meetings and training sessionsAssisting with queries from fee earnersIf required, assisting with certain fee earning tasks.CANDIDATE PROFILE //Candidates for this position will be expected to have worked, or be working, in a similar role within a professional services environment, but that is not essential. We are open to considering candidates from a range of backgrounds. However, an interest in, and the enthusiasm to develop knowledge of the debt capital markets and securitisation area, is essential.We also require candidates to have:Strong academic and legal backgroundExcellent organisational skillsSelf-motivated and able to work independently and pro-activelyAbility to work under pressure and to tight deadlinesStrong oral and written communications skillsExcellent eye for detailExcellent legal technical knowledgeAbility to pick up new legal concepts quicklyGood IT skills and an ability to learn new IT systems quicklyExperience of working in a diverse team whilst fostering an inclusive team cultureHigh level of professionalism and integrity; displays the highest standard of professional ethics
