Overview: Working alongside our client, a successful injection moulding manufacturer, as part of their growth plan we are looking for a Quality Engineer to join their team.

Remit:

* Reporting to the QHSE Manager, the purpose of the Quality Engineer is to ensure the smooth introduction of new projects & design/process changes, alongside developing and implementing quality standards and work instructions.

* As a Quality Engineer you will be responsible for improving business performance and reducing costs of non-conformance.

* The successful candidate will be an experienced Quality Engineer with prior experience within an automotive or injection moulding manufacturing environment.

Role:

* Compilation of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) documentation.

* Interpretation of engineering drawing and CAD models to programme the faro arm in order to measure products to produce ISIR reports

* Maintain Quality/Environmental (Integrated) management system.

* Ensure Quality and Environmental management site legal compliance.

* Compile IMDS information and updating MDS as and when required.

* Actively participate in PFMEA meetings and subsequent reviews.

* Creation of procedures and other supporting documents controlled to IMS.

* Complete monthly statistical analysis for Quality and Environmental Objectives and Target KPI’s

* Evaluate dimensional and visual assessment of components and identify areas of concern.

* Identify concerns and liaise with relevant internal and customer contacts until concerns are fully resolved using 8D and the appropriate problem-solving tools.

* Conduct drawing and specification reviews as part of feasibility studies.

* Drive quality improvement throughout the business, using 5 Why, FMEA, CAPA and Ishikawa.

* Creation of SOPs for process activities

* Gauge concept design.

* Support QHSE Manager with any external customer or third-party audits.

* Support close out of NC’s and other findings from internal/external audits.

* Conduct Internal Audits covering both ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.

* Completion of internal HS&E walkthrough Inspections (with QHSE Committee members support)

* Support Quality and Environmental management reviews

Experience Requirements:

* Experienced Quality Engineer ideally within an automotive or injection moulding environment.

* Knowledge of ISO9001, ISO14001 & IATF16949 quality systems

* Competent in development of quality procedures, SOP quality control documentation.

* Quality core tool knowledge and experience

* Experienced in 8D activities/good problem solving skills

* Knowledge of Drawing Dimensional Standards – GD&T

* Knowledge of use of inspection equipment/measuring arms/other inspection technologies

* Able to work without direct supervision.

* Confidence to liaise with all levels of personnel within customer and supplier’s organisations.

* Fully PC literate with Microsoft packages.
