Lead Maintenance Engineer

Salary: Competitive plus Veolia benefits and pension

Hours: Monday to Friday, 48 hours per week. 07:00AM - 17:00PM

Location: Avonmouth (Bristol recovery and recycling facility), BS11 0YB

What you'll be doing;

Responsible for maximising the throughput of the facility by organising and completing day-to-day routine maintenance and shutdown work of all plant and equipment.

Allocate work for the weekend shutdowns and plan the work during the week, you will also supervise the on-shift Technicians during the week and distribute labour.

Support the apprentice engineers onsite to maintain efficient and effective plant operations, preventing plant breakdowns by completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM).

Complete planning and scheduling of all of the maintenance aspects of the recycling facility.

Organise and plan PPM scheduled work and non-scheduled work through INFOR CMMS.

Supervise service contractors and contract labour, raising work permits and reviewing risk assessments/method statements, identifying and ordering spare parts for repairs and modifications.

Ensure maintenance requests from all sites within the role holder remit are dealt with in a timely and professional manner and complete all relevant paperwork and reports to the required standard.

What we're looking for;

City & Guilds or NVQ level 3 in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance or a recognised formal apprenticeship with an ONC/HNC in the relevant discipline.

Experience in process manufacturing, production industry or food manufacturing facility.

Experience with material handling equipment, conveyors, baling equipment, Low Voltage equipment, pumps, motors, plant auxiliaries, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical and optical separation, magnetic and Eddy current separation technology.

Competent problem solver with a practical approach to engineering problems.

Have an analytical approach to investigation, allied with a practical ability to resolve engineering problems.
