Working time pattern: 40 hours/week (7:15-16:15 - 5 days per week)

Main Duties and responsibilities* To prepare and cook nutritionally balanced meals appropriate for under-fives in accordance with the nurserys nutritional guidance for the under-fives.
Prepare all food in accordance with current allergy control policy.
To contribute ideas to menu planning ensuring the children receive a healthy nutritionally balanced, multi-cultural diet.
To maintain a safe, clean and healthy kitchen environment.
To regulate kitchen stock control and collate food purchasing orders as appropriate.
To maintain accurate records regarding temperature controls etc.
To meet health and safety and environmental health requirements at all times.
To liaise with nursery staff regarding childrens specific dietary requirements.
To attend any training events or staff/team meetings as identified by the Nursery Managers.
To ensure adherence to nurserys code of practice on confidentiality.
To follow HACCP (hazard analysis and critical control points) guidelines when working with food.
To ensure that all cooked food reaches the required temperature prior to service.
Train kitchen assistant to enable full running of kitchen in your absence.
