Job Description

With a busy warehouse filled with orders ready to be shipped, my client is looking for an onsite Forklift Maintenance Engineer to join them on a permanent basis. You would be responsible for maintaining and repairing the forklifts on site and carrying all testing where necessary. With over 30 years established in producing specialised food for both the UK and overseas, my client is looking for a skilled and experienced individual to join them.

Your role would be to:

Perform preventative maintenance routines and condition monitoring on combi, counterbalance and bendi Forklift Trucks
Create and maintain a work sheet culture to record all repairs required.
Diagnose faults and repair various Forklift Trucks including, (but not limited to) Combi, Counterbalance and Bendi.
Carry out maintenance tasks diligently and in good time using appropriate methodology working with the departmental manage for machinery release.
Anticipate machine failures and make such changes or recommendations to prevent re-occurrence and to minimise down time.
Complete written records of all maintenance activities
Work to improve reliability and productivity of equipment.
Cover and manage breakdowns on all FLT Trucks
Order and maintain spare parts working with the Maintenance Planner
Assist in areas of general maintenance when required in other areas of the plant.
Work to Health and Safety legislation.
Any other duties that are required in line with skill set from time to time in line with business requirements.

Requirements:

Experience repairing and servicing FLT trucks
Electrical & Mechanical qualification or relative experience
A professional and "can do" attitude to work.
Written and verbal communication skills
Experience of working with hydraulics and electrical equipment
Excellent servicing and fault-finding skills.
Team player but also able to work on your own initiative.
Flexible and reliable
