Job Description

Work Wales are currently recruiting for a Purchasing Assistant for a large manufacturing factory in Swansea. This role is key to the continued growth of the business We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic candidate to join the team and develop.

Key duties:

Processing purchase orders and updating the team on the status of orders and any risks to supply.
Continuously pursue cost effective material purchase to aid efficient production and manage PPE stock, pricing, and usage rates by staff.
Building relationships with suppliers and negotiating for best price, MOQ's, and delivery times scales.
Contacting suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues
Co-ordinating ad-hoc and month end stock takes and collate valuations for the finance team.
Future proofing all material availability using an agreed rolling forecast and orders in alignment with financial year targets.
Completing account application forms and manage invoice queries for all sites working closely with Supply Chain Manager and Accounts department.
Updating MRP system and purchased parts information to ensure pricing information, min. order quantities, re-order points and usage rates are accurate.The successful candidate will;

Have previous experience within an administrative role ideally within a Manufacturing or Engineering Company.
Have a good understanding of purchasing processes
Have commercial awareness and an excellent attention to detail ensuring all purchase orders are accurate.
Have a passion for product, balanced with understanding the need for commercial acumen
Have strong analytical and numerical skills
Have strong organisation skills
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Be an effective communicator, presenter, and team player with an ability to bring others with them to deliver a strategy.
