We’ve working on several Metal Working roles due to our clients exponential growth. The business we’re currently supporting operate within a typically stable sector and are gearing up for the next few years.

Successful Metal Workers will be trained over several months in the use of heavy metal working machinery and become a qualified forklift operator. The training you’ll be given is fully certified.

The Company

These Metal Worker positions are available due to expansion following significant investment in the site and an exceptional couple of years of growth. The Dorset based site has some great facilities for staff, modern and well-maintained equipment, and excellent staff retention.

There are three different shifts on offer with multiple openings on each (although all training is based on the dayshift).

6am – 2pm Monday to Friday
2pm – 10pm Monday to Friday
10pm – 6am Sunday to Thursday

Duties of a Trainee Metal Worker (after training)

Working through assigned job sheets to cut metal beams as per customers’ requirements – you’ll be taught how to use and read technical drawings.
The movement of the material from storage to the machinery using your own forklift truck – some of the material can weigh over a tonne!
Cutting the material using a selection of both Manual and CNC Saws – training will be provided on how to set up, maintain and operate this equipment.
Assisting other departments across the HUGE site with the loading and unloading of materials.
Post processing quality checks, basically measuring the finished items to ensure that they’ve been cut to the right dimensions – training will be provided in basic inspection techniques.
Preparing the completed orders for shipment, this normally involves banding, palletising, or bagging the items ready for the customer to receive.
You:

Successful candidates will be inducted and trained over a period of several months, this is to ensure that they are equipped with all they need to work in a safe manner.

Owing to the huge investment in training, our client is keen to hear from people who are wanting to secure long-term, permanent work and have a genuine desire to learn new skills along the way. 

Rubicon’s client are looking for people with previous experience in areas such as welding, fabricator or even farming!

The business presently runs a variety of different shifts including a day shift, afternoon shift and a night shift. The site itself isn’t accessible by public transport so you WILL need your own transport.
