Job Description Role Purpose:
To support the design of the UK Supply Chain strategy by leading the identification and implementation of end-to-end supply chain improvements, but with strong focus on DC and Transport specifically. This would include, but not be limited to the introduction of; automation, artificial intelligence, sustainability enhancements and new software / technologies in order to support growth, productivity, efficiency, cost controls and environmental impacts.
Successful enhancements would require capex approvals plus both steerco and working group ownership in the post sign off to go-live phase.
Key responsibilities:
· Cross functional interactions to understand current processes and the identification of improvement opportunities across Distribution & Transport. Key stakeholders would be Supply Chain, Commercial, Finance, Store Operations, Security, IT and the People team.
· External networking to understand best in class market options and the translation of how this could benefit the UK ASW Supply Chain function with the introduction of automation, artificial intelligence, sustainability enhancements and new software / technologies.
· Working collaboratively with the ASW Group Supply Chain to review, research and propose solutions for our DC & Transport network that would offer productivity, resource and capacity improvement.
· Develop and implement strategic plans to ensure the DC & Transport operation is future fit to meet our customer expectations over the next 5-10 years.
· Lead or be part of the team in the delivery of all new projects, change initiatives or innovations focusing on DC & Transport.
· Use robust analytical techniques to identify appropriate solutions that address the root causes.
· Creation of business cases to secure Investment Committee approval for any capex requirements to deliver enhancements to the supply chain.
· Either leading a project or being part of the project team. Creating project plans, presentations, actions for communication to the senior management team.
· Use project management techniques to ensure that the solutions are delivered to cost, time and quality.
· Engage and work alongside colleagues from across the business to ensure that changes are understood, effective and sustainable.
· Candidates must be strategic and a strong communicators who are capable of building relationships across the business.
