Job Description An insurance company based in the City of London is recruiting for a Procurement Specialist to fill a 14-month maternity cover contact.

Sitting within the finance department and reporting to the Procurement Manager the successful applicant will provide support to the Group by coordinating procurement of goods and services.

More specifically this will include (but not limited to) finding venders for day-to-day supplies to keep corporate operations running, ensuring the right source of supply is obtained at the best price, negotiating commercial terms (price, term of payment, insurances, liabilities) prior to the business signing in conjunction with the legal team, help establish and maintain a purchasing budget within departments, creating purchase orders and also be responsible for expediting orders to vendors, delivery of improvement in overall value (quality, cost, delivery, performance) from the vendor portfolio, enhance or develop new purchasing processes to ensure TCO is maximised through use of RFQs and tenders, assist with the transformation and growth of the Global procurement source to pay capabilities by looking for, participating in and leading continuous improvement initiatives, managing delivery of the procurement process, policy, and procedures and the creation of ad-hoc or monthly reports on vendors or contract monitoring.

Applicants must have proven experience working as a procurement specialist, possess strong communication, project management, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, ideally have had some exposure to the financial services sector and be available at short notice to start a new assignment.
