Owen Farm Services is a small but growing company that provides agricultural consultancy and advisory services to farmers and landowners in Scotland and the North of England. We are looking for an experienced and qualified Agricultural Consultant to join our team and help us deliver high-quality solutions to our clients. Due to new work, we are looking to expand our team with an experienced consultant.

Duties will include:-

Assessing the needs and objectives of clients and providing them with tailored advice on farm management, soil health, carbon auditing, environmental issues, business planning, and grant applications.
Delivery of technical and financial farm consultancy, including preparation of budgets and reports
Providing advice to a range of clients in all farming types.
Leading presentations and group facilitation.
Helping to train and develop trainee consultants.
Build a professional network on behalf of Owen Farm Services.
Identify opportunities then subsequently promote and market services.
Carry out practical elements of the job such as soil sampling.

A Degree in Agriculture or its equivalent is essential with relevant consultancy experience. Budget and staff management experience are also desirable.

The candidate must use their initiative in the conduct of their work, and apply sound judgement at all times to ensure that they conduct themselves within the framework of Owen Farm Services regulations and procedures. A full driving licence is essential since travel throughout the UK will be required. The candidate will perform additional duties as directed from time to time.

Owen Farm Services currently deliver advice to a range of established clients. Based in the office near Lockerbie but requiring some travel including overnight stays and out of area work, the ideal candidate will have a proven range of skills that will help our clients businesses move forward.

To be successful in this role, you will need:
An HND, degree or equivalent qualification in agriculture, agronomy, soil science, animal science, or a related field.
At least two years of relevant work experience as an agricultural consultant, advisor, or other relevant work experience.
A sound knowledge of Scotland and England's agricultural industry, policies, and regulations including the funding landscape.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
A valid driving license and willingness to travel to different locations.
A passion for agriculture and a commitment to sustainability and customer satisfaction.
