Job Description Clinical Course Tutor

Location: Greenfields House and Gables House, Tenterden, Kent
Salary: £37,388 – £38,102 per annum
Employment type: Permanent, Full time
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Context
Childhood First enables children and young people to recover from early life abuse and relational trauma, to enjoy life and to achieve their potential. We do this through the provision of specialist therapeutic residential care and treatment, together with family and network support. We are also a UKCP Training Organisational Member accredited with Middlesex University, providing in-house clinical training to its clinical staff.

Purpose
To plan and deliver therapeutic staff training events, student assessments and training support which meet the requirements of the Integrated Systemic Therapy programmes, within Childhood First therapeutic communities and networks.

What you’ll bring to the role
• Practitioners Diploma level, or equivalent in Integrated Systemic Therapy.
• Experience in delivering training programs and facilitating experiential learning discussions.
• An understanding of therapeutic treatment for traumatised children (Practice and academic study).
• An understanding of psychodynamic principles, practice and processes in relation to working with traumatised children.
• The ability to effectively deliver the specific subject matter of the seminar modules.
• Strong personal organisation skills.
• The ability to communicate at all levels using strong written and verbal communication skills.

Task
• Planning and delivering online and face to face seminars and workshops according to the individual seminar description, aims and learning outcomes.
• Acting as the key contact for each cohort of trainees.
• Providing seminar outlines, reading lists and other administrative requirements in advance of each seminar.
• Conducting regular assessment of trainees’ progress according to set criteria.
• Providing pastoral support for trainees whilst remaining in role and respecting the various relationships and circles of containment Childhood First provides.
• Producing evaluation reports.
• Contributing to the design of therapeutic training programmes and seminars.
