Hours: 37 hrs per week
Compensation: £13.20/hour (1-12 weeks), £15.70/hour (13 weeks +)

Overview: The Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council is seeking a dynamic PR Officer to enhance our Corporate Communications and Public Relations efforts. Based in Coleraine, this role provides a vital support function to our PR Manager, helping implement our comprehensive Public Relations and Communications Plan. This position offers an opportunity to be at the forefront of managing the council's public image and media relations.

Key Responsibilities:
PR and Communications Support : Assist in the implementation and coordination of the Council's PR/Communications Plan.
Press Office Support : Provide administrative and logistical support to the Council Press Office.
Content Development : Assist with copywriting, editing, and proofreading for press releases and media materials.
Digital Engagement : Utilize social media platforms and tools like Mailchimp and Adobe InDesign to engage the public and manage content effectively.
Strategic Planning : Contribute to the design and preparation of PR strategies and media plans to enhance the Council's public engagement.

Essential Criteria:
Educational Background : Level 4 qualification or higher in Communications, Journalism, English, Public Relations, or related field.
Professional Experience :
At least two years’ relevant experience in Public Relations, Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, or Media.
Demonstrable skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook).
Strong copywriting, editing, and proofreading abilities.
Desirable Skills :
Deep understanding of local government operations and strategic communication challenges.
A full UK driving licence (Category B) and access to a vehicle, or other means of transport to fulfill the responsibilities of the role.
