Salary: £35,000/DOE + KPI Bonus

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Events Account Manager to join an energetic company specialising in the field of festivals and events.

The purpose of this role is to achieve new business sales by winning new Food and Beverage contracts in the event sector for the business across pop-ups, festivals and venues. You will be well supported by your manager and the team, working closely with internal commercial and operation’s teams on these event proposals, diligently managing the commercial operation and ongoing sales cycle responsibilities from start to finish, including retention work.

A key focus is nurturing clients on allocated events/venues to build relationships to support delivering profitable ventures aligned with our ethos of sustainability, innovation and people culture. The role is busy year round, peaking through the summer with some contracts and events requiring annual renewal pitches and proposal submissions.

The role will include data and commercial acumen competencies and ability, oversight of quality and timely responses to tender submissions by delivering relevant proposal documentation, whilst supporting the directors and Head of Partnerships in pitches for major new event contract. Motivated by delivering best in class bar and catering operations for new and existing venues and events (such as Wembley Arena, Winter Wonderland, Camp Bestival and other exciting independent festivals), you’ll be responsible for the commercial management with the client/venue ensuring they’re running as efficiently as possible, maximising new opportunities where suitable. Success in the role includes being able to be a proactive and willing commercial operator with an unshakable ability to work with operators on the ground by managing multiple commercial budgets.

Key Responsibilities:
Managing the entire sales process from start finish:
Leading on the creation and ongoing evolution of sales collateral
Generating festival and event leads, both independent and portfolios
Managing tender submission portals for new business and responding in a timely manner
Facilitating meetings & following up actions
Oversight and involvement to create bespoke pitch documents and client reports
Negotiation with clients & prospects
Creating commercial deals and cost-risk assessments
Ensuring events are contracted and that they’re accurate and complete
Develop and monitor budgets per event with operational and finance departments
Confident with budget management to create commercial forecasts which have differing variables, scenarios and revenue and cost lines on a case by case basis
Managing clients and relationships from a commercial perspective, to enhance revenue and performance by using new and existing data, which you will analyse and manipulate, to use in an easy-to-explain-manner for internal and external personnel
Comfortable and willing to present insights to clients to continue to evolve accounts and create new opportunities
Bring innovation and new ideas to our clients to support both retention and new business
Producing relevant and insightful event and venue reports where needed, using both analytical and intangible insight
Pro-active drive to improve overall profit margin at every level.
Oversee efficient handover with the Project Management teams
Adhoc tasks and projects as required

Knowledge/Experience & Skills
ESSENTIAL:
· Experience working in the festival, events and or hospitality sector
· 3+ years in an outdoor event environment with an understanding of how events are built from start to scratch, including the cost and revenue elements
· Superb management and organisational skills
· Commercial awareness e.g Experience Identifying the most lucrative commercial opportunities and risks
· Influential presentation and communication skills, an eye for detail in creating presentations that are fresh and enticing both in their design and content
· The ability to cope with pressures and work priorities, managing multiple tasks at a time
· Experience managing projects to tight deadlines and turnarounds
· Data analytical skills and commercial acumen
PREFERRED:
· Solid industry networks & contacts
· Proven experience in managing a commercial business relationship and or being in an operational role in the sector
· Considerable knowledge of alcohol brands and food trends
· Experience and passion for the events/festival/sports industry
· Working experience in the hospitality sector and or selling F&B provisions and operations

Qualifications & Education
ESSENTIAL:
· Microsoft office tools ability and understanding; word, power point, and excel
PREFERRED:

· Degree level in relevant qualification to role
