Job Description I’m excited to be working with a company who have become a market leader in their sector. Due to internal promotions, my client is now recruiting for 2 experienced HGV Mechanics to join their expanding friendly team in Wallingford, Oxfordshire. The successful candidates must be qualified motor mechanics with proven experience working on trucks of all sizes.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative, family-run business who are at the forefront of the industry, continually evolving to ensure that their work is environmentally friendly, whilst maintaining efficiency. The successful HGV Mechanics will be responsible for working as part of a team to repair and maintain the company’s fleet of vehicles, including HGV and LGV.

HGV Mechanic Responsibilities:
Inspection of vehicles to ensure that all service and maintenance needed to maintain the vehicle is recorded and carried out.
Use computerized diagnostic machine to locate any mechanical faults.
Complete job cards and write reports regarding customer vehicle fleets.
Carry out Pre-mot checks and complete mot testing on vehicles.
Carry out fault diagnosis on hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems and effect repairs to same.
Ensure health & safety procedures are followed and adhered to.

HGV Mechanic Requirements:
The successful candidates must have an NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering with a proven background in a similar role.
Hold a strong Mechanical Engineer / Hydraulic or Pneumatic Engineer / Fitter background.
Experience working on HGV vehicles is beneficial.
Ideally hold minimum Class 2 HGV/LGV Licence, but not essential.
Basic electrical knowledge for fault diagnosis and rectification.
Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.

HGV Mechanic Benefits:
Salary – £47,500.
Monday to Friday – alternating day shift patterns.
23 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays, option to purchase additional leave, after probation period.
