Job Description Due to the continued success of our 3D animation division and growing demand for our services internationally, IKM 3D in Aberdeen is looking for a creative and motivated junior 3D animator to join our highly innovative and dynamic design team. As a junior 3D animator, you will play a key role in developing industry-leading 3D imagery, 3D animations and 3D interactive apps for a wide range of global engineering and technology companies. If you enjoy exploring new technologies and thinking outside the box, this position is for you!

Roles and Responsibilities

Content Development
Assist with all aspects of 3D animation projects as required from storyboarding through modelling, texturing, and rigging, to animating, rendering and post-production.
Create highly detailed and accurate 3D models of client products and equipment using technical drawing-based reference material, technical procedures and various other technical documentation and specifications provided by clients.
Employ creativity to bring complex technical subject matter to life in a highly engaging manner.
Attend client meetings as required.

General Responsibilities
Proactively generate departmental improvement ideas and log them within the Design Improvement Idea Tracker.
Adhere to company’s policies and procedures.
Provide support to other departments within IKM Testing UK, as required.

Qualifications Required

Essential:
Minimum secondary school or college qualification in a relevant discipline.

Preferred:
HND qualification or honours degree in relevant discipline.

Experience Required

Essential:
Keen interest in technical / engineering subject matter.
Experience using 3D modelling, animation and rendering software.
Experience using Adobe After Effects, Premiere and Photoshop.
Basic understanding of VFX pipeline and video production processes.
Good computer and digital media skills.

Preferred:
Experience using 3DS Max.
Experience using Vray.
Previous experience working in a 3D Modelling and Animation production role.
