Job Description

Climate and Nature Risk Analyst

£35-50k

Cambridge/hybrid

We are recruiting for our specialist tech start up clients, with a clear mission statement; you will be joining a business who are using their product to assist some of the biggest global brands in their pathway to becoming Net Zero.

We are looking for two new climate and nature risk analysts to join our client’s mission of assisting businesses in managing their exposure and response to the dual nature-climate crisis – the two biggest systemic threats facing the economy.

They have developed a unique modelling and analytics platform, established on over a decade of influential frameworks. The outcomes of their models aid corporations in assessing and navigating the risks and opportunities presented by the transition to a low-carbon, nature-positive economy.

Their software platform, along with our advisory services, supports companies in producing climate- and nature-related analytics to navigate their pathway to net zero and sustainable business practices.

Our clients are offering:

* An unparalleled climate-tech platform, counting numerous international well known brands and companies as clients.

* Opportunity for personal development

* A multidisciplinary, diverse and passionate team of richly talented individuals

* Excellent benefits, including bonus scheme and private medical insurance.

* The opportunity to be part of something meaningful in the race to net zero.

* Commitment to delivery with good time management, decision-making, and planning skills.

* Must possess strong attention to detail, multi-tasking, and organisational abilities.

The role

* Help develop our suite of environmental and risk models.

* Handle complex datasets, conduct analytics, and build rigorous models to help quantify the probability, consequences, and financial impacts of nature and climate risk scenarios.

* Generate new insights through the visualisation and representation of outputs to solve challenges related to the quantification of environmental risks to business.

* Be part of a talented team of modellers, economists, data scientists, and software engineers, as well as contributing to the development of the wider company and client base.

The candidate

* Bachelor’s degree or higher in geography, natural sciences, economics, mathematics, physics or a related quantitative discipline.

* Demonstrated experience with a programming language such as Python (preferred) or another language.

* Excellent problem-solving skills, including the ability to learn new topics and develop innovative solutions.

* An ability to source information; organize and interpret datasets; and present results visually.

* An interest in climate change and/or nature risks and how these may impact businesses
