The Role

Our in-house design team co-creates the most innovative experiences in the sky with our airline customers and partners. Our dedicated engineering, production and in-service support facilities are integral to delivering a high-end quality product that we keep flying throughout the life of programme.

The purpose of this role is to manage a design team that will provide design solutions from initial concept through to manufacture.

Key Responsibilities will include:

* Responsible for the design and detail modeling of a variety of suite components in order to meet programme requirements

* Produce designs to meet specified cost/weight targets

* Design Engineers will communicate effectively and professionally with customers and suppliers.

* Participate in Design Reviews throughout each phase of the New Product Introduction process

* The selection and application of materials and processes appropriate to each design element

* Ensure the successful integration of each design element within the product as a whole

* Check engineering packages

* Participate in the validation of the product (using such methods as prototyping, test, DFMEA)

* Follow and contribute to the development of the Best Practice guidelines

* From time to time, Design Engineers must be prepared to undertake tasks outside of their normal duties as requested by their immediate supervisors.

Role requirements

* Educated to HND / Degree level within an Engineering capacity

* Experience of working within mechanical design, (all industries considered)

* Excellent problem solving skills

* Experience of using CAD software - CATIA V5 would be desirable but others will be considered

* Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written.
