Job Description

A thriving SME business with a fantastic company culture is looking to appoint an Accountant. This position will grow beyond the current remit as you become more established within the company. This role offers the successful candidate an opportunity to join an exciting industry. Ideally you will be fluent in French or at least A Level standard.

This position has been created due to internal promotion and organic growth for this client. This role will be reporting into the Managing Director, who is a qualified accountant with solid knowledge and experience of working within this environment. This will allow you to evolve over time to taking on a role as a Financial Controller.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS POSITION IS PREDOMINANTLY AN OFFICE BASED ROLE.

Accountant - About The Role

You will be working within a finance function that will have nuances associated with the reporting timelines and process due to their industry. This role is best suited to someone who has worked in an SME business environment and as such has a background of facilitating a blended position across both management and financial reporting. You will be working within a small finance team of 3 people.

* Full production of the management accounts and management reporting pack

* Point of contact for the annual audit - resolving any queries or questions, relating to this

* Assisting the budget holders including Directors for the annual budget process and variance reporting

* Bank postings and payments and preparation of the cashflow forecasting

* Management of the UK payroll and company pension scheme

* Overseeing the AR and AP functions

The successful Accountant will have:

* A formal qualification in finance - ACCA / ICAEW / CIMA / CA

* Ideally fluent in French or Business Fluent in French, or have an A Level or equivalent in French and a desire to pick up this again

* Experience of working in an SME

* Experience of working with Sage
