Pricing Analyst – Birmingham - £31,750 K + outstanding benefits
We’re excited to be working with a leading rail company, looking for a Pricing Analyst to optimise revenue using analytics across their network of routes
The successful applicant will have the ability to manipulate large amounts of data using masterful Excel skills, while communicating findings to the stakeholders. Knowledge of pricing and pricing techniques is important as is a tech-savvy mindset and the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Above all, they are looking for someone with a brilliant personality, who is inquisitive, has confidence to challenge the status-quo and be a force for positive change.
The role would suit someone with 1-2 years in an analytical role where revenue management is being applied: ideally rail, airlines, car park, car rental or hotels.

Responsibilities:

Pricing and Application of Pricing Techniques:

Manage pricing across 10.5 million fares. Work collaboratively with revenue management department
2.
Research and Innovation:
*
Conduct research into pricing techniques and strategies Implement innovative ideas and policies.
3.
Expert Knowledge:
*
Develop and maintain expert knowledge of routes and markets.
4.
Data Analysis:
* Extract key information from large datasets. Manage detailed work with strategic analysis.
5.
Relationship Building:
* Develop and maintain relationships within the region and with frontline colleagues.
Systems and Tools:
1.
Management Information:
*
Provide, interpret, and make recommendations on data to other functions. Inform decisions on supply, resourcing levels, and promotional activity.
2.
RM Systems Utilization:
*
Use systems to manage policies for a train portfolio Optimize business at various levels of detail (market, route, train).
3.
Continuous Improvement:
* Strive for continuous improvement in revenue results. Evolve processes and approaches in line with changing market conditions.
Data Analysis, Evaluation, and Reporting:
1.
Interpretation of Key Data:
* Identify opportunities and threats to revenue. Produce recommendations for key business decisions.
2.
Commercial Partnership:
* Act as a commercial partner for a region, providing insight and recommendations. Gather feedback and suggestions to improve revenue.
3.
Performance Reporting:
* Provide regularly scheduled and ad-hoc data analysis. Propose actions to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
4.
Collaboration:
* Work with the Business Analysis team to identify growth constraints. Collaborate with the wider Commercial team on business cases.
5.
Feedback and Action:
* Review feedback on crowding and reservations. Implement necessary actions.
6.
Marketing Support:
* Highlight markets for promotions or advertising. Provide RM recommendations for special events.
7.
Interdepartmental Interaction:
* Interact with personnel across the business by providing reports and data.
