Assistant Quantity Surveyor (125jc) – Fareham – up to £35k + Benefits

We have been again approached by the specialist Maritime Civil Engineering company to assist them in seeking an Assistant QS to join this exciting and expanding company.

DUE TO THE NATURE OF THIS RECRUITMENT CONSULTANCY, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO REPRESENT INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE EX MILITARY.

They are a leading specialist maritime contractor with a strong presence in the UK. Their expertise encompasses a wide range of maritime construction and engineering projects. With a commitment to excellence and innovation, they pride themselves on delivering high-quality solutions that meet and exceed their clients' expectations.

So therefore, they are seeking a motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Fareham, Hampshire. In this role, you will play a key part in managing the financial aspects of their projects, ensuring their successful execution within budget and in compliance with contractual agreements. As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging maritime projects that make a significant impact on the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

* Work alongside project managers and directors to oversee all financial aspects of assigned projects, including cost control, budget management, and financial reporting.

* Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates and bills of quantities.

* Monitor and assist project managers in managing contractual agreements, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks.

* Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to assess and control costs.

* Assist with the evaluation and negotiation of subcontractor agreements and variations.

* Provide regular financial updates and reports to project managers and senior management.

* Assist in the resolution of disputes and claims.

Requirements:

* Excellent communication skills.

* Proficiency in relevant software tools, such as Excel and cost estimating software.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
