Job Description

CIVILS ESTIMATOR

First People Solutions are currently seeking a Civils Estimator to join our client's team on a permanent basis. This role will cover various projects across Scotland, with a hybrid working model based in their Glasgow office.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare competitive and accurate estimates using supplier, subcontractor, and internal labor costs.
Manage time effectively to ensure timely submission of estimates.
Review and appraise supplier and subcontractor quotations.
Communicate with project teams to develop estimates according to client requirements.
Report to Estimating Manager on clarifications, questions, and challenges.
Manage both internal and external stakeholders.
Prepare work by gathering information and setting priorities.
Obtain bids from vendors and subcontractors, negotiating prices.
Maintain quality service by following organization standards.Requirements:

3-5 years of previous civils estimating experience, ideally in engineering or construction.
Experience in the Water industry is preferred, with practical/site experience a plus.
Ability to interpret and communicate complex technical information.
Proficiency in MS Excel, with experience in MS Project or P6 Primavera planning software.
