Kitchen Assistant

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for the position of Kitchen Assistant.

Location: Appleby Magna, Swadlincote

Working Hours: 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM, Monday - Friday

Pay Rate:£11.44

Job Description:

We are seeking a reliable and proactive Kitchen Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food preparation, possess excellent organizational skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will primarily be responsible for food preparation, maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area, and providing support to the kitchen staff as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, and peeling ingredients.
- Ensure all food items are stored properly and maintain proper hygiene standards in the kitchen.
- Clean and sanitise kitchen utensils, equipment, and work areas regularly.
- Assist in receiving and storing food deliveries.
- Follow all safety and sanitation procedures in compliance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager.

Requirements:

- Previous experience working in a kitchen environment is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
- Flexibility to work on weekends and holidays as needed.
