Job Description

A leading premium automotive business and leading to move towards electric autonomous vehicles.

WHAT TO EXPECT 

The role will be within Chassis Motion Control, forming part of the Body/Chassis Engineering Department. The team delivers control systems to enhance the customer driving experience on and off-road, working towards the goal of autonomous driving whilst ensuring our vehicles remain an engaging experience that our customers will love.

This role is leading the delivery of a Control System within the Software and Controls Chapter. As part of the Chapter, the exact technology being worked on can and will change, however the Chapter is responsible for the following features: Rear Wheel Steer, Automated Off-Road Cruise Control, Terrain Response, AutoTR and other upcoming technologies.

The team you will be working in uses model-based software delivery techniques (MATLAB/Simulink) to produce safety-critical software, delivering key features that exude the characteristics of our House of Brands. This will involve working with many internal stakeholders to understand their needs, and ensuring software is delivered to vehicle programme timing. The chapter follows the Agile working methodology.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

·Leading the model-based software development to meet requirements including architecture definition, functional development and testing, in line with the relevant quality standards (KWS12.13), coding guidelines and technical/ project constraints.

·Technical leadership of other software/ control engineers, including task planning, delegation of work, reviewing and reporting progress.

· Alongside Product Owners and Scrum masters, develop and maintain the software team work plan within an agile framework, including planning of sprints, balancing content priorities and resources.

· Overseeing productionisation of the software, ensuring quality and time commitments are met

· Leading verification and validation of the software in all required environments and generating the required technical evidence.

· Supporting Functional Safety and Cyber Security analysis of the control system and ensuring compliance to ISO26262 section 6 for software.

· Management of defects and changes to all software artefacts · Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested from time to time

WHAT YOU NEED

· Experienced in Model based control software delivery, preferably with a chassis related product.

· Competent to co-ordinate tasks across team members, track progress and review

· Able to work effectively with a diverse team across different sites and test locations

· An understanding of vehicle network communications, ECUs and electronics
