Job Description

Howdens Joinery are looking for a Junior Digital Developer to join our busy Digital Development Team.

This role offers a confident and engaging junior coder an excellent opportunity to be an integral part of the Digital Development team. Building/maintaining our website and internal systems your technical expertise will help us see projects through from inception to delivery.

Based remotely, with some travel to our site in Raunds, Northamptonshire.

What will I be doing as a Junior Developer?

Supporting, maintaining and developing for the Sitecore Content Management and Content Delivery Systems based in Azure infrastructure
Developing, implementing, refactoring and testing code (C#, .Net core), following best practices for maintainability, testability and performance
Develop and support multiple critical high performance, always-on .Net systems including web applications, REST APIs, Microservices, Azure functions and new technologies
Creating releases and deploying code via Azure Pipelines
Ensuring that reported issues / bugs are resolved effectively using ITSM tool and Azure DevOps
Ensure that all developments are completed in accordance with agreed coding standards and best practices
Continual review and improvement of implemented solutions, focusing on performance, efficiency, resilience, security, scalability and usability
Actively participating in regular Agile ceremonies such as Stand ups, System Demos, Retrospectives and Refinement sessions
Ensure all work is carried out in line with Howdens' aligned Agile methodology
Provide expert level support for Trade systems applications
What do I need to qualify for this role?

Some experience of C#, ASP.net, ASP.NET core and Node JS
A working understanding of ORM technologies, preferably Entity Framework
Knowledge of Unit test scripting (ex: xUnit)
Understanding of MVVM frameworks
SQL Server knowledge including configuration, queries and Stored Procedures
Understanding of cloud technologies, preferably Microsoft Azure
Good understanding of version control and branching technologies
Someone with knowledge or familiarity of a Content Management Systems preferably Sitecore is advantageous.
Be able to work closely with stakeholders to understand the business requirements first-hand.
