As part of a dynamic team, this vital role involves enhancing and streamlining operational procedures to ensure high standards of quality, timeliness, accuracy, efficiency, and consistency across the relevant departments. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in establishing and enforcing process controls throughout the stages of producing and finalising statutory accounts, ensuring seamless execution from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

* The role requires maintaining and updating your expertise in financial accounting to guide and support the team with the latest accounting principles, standards, and regulations. You'll be tasked with enhancing financial management through the development and implementation of innovative best practices in accounting and reporting, aimed at improving operational efficiency. A critical part of your role will be to analyse current financial processes, pinpoint inefficiencies, and design solutions that streamline operations and boost productivity.

* Furthermore, you will establish rigorous standards and procedures to ensure uniformity in financial reporting and processes across various teams. Regular internal audits will be conducted to assess the adherence to these practices, identify any gaps or risks, and provide constructive feedback to ensure timely corrections and compliance with agreed timelines.

* Collaborative efforts with other departments are essential to fully understand the company’s operational needs, offering tailored financial support and ensuring strategic alignment with the overall business goals. You will also identify and address training needs within the team to ensure consistent quality and timely delivery of financial services.

* Responsibilities extend to managing all aspects of tax and statutory compliance for the organisation and its clients, ensuring all financial activities comply with legal standards. Additionally, you will oversee the company’s secretarial functions, managing necessary submissions and compliance for all clients as required.

This role not only demands a high level of financial acumen but also strong leadership and strategic planning skills to support the organisation’s objectives and growth.

They should be proactive, ready to engage directly with tasks, and comfortable working closely with others to enhance team effectiveness. A forward-looking mindset and a keen interest in learning about diverse operational methods are crucial. They should be adept at leading initiatives, solving problems effectively, and adapting practices to meet client requirements accurately. Additionally, meticulous attention to detail, especially in document preparation, and an understanding of business dynamics are essential qualities for this role.

* 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday (office based)

* 23 days holiday plus statutory days.

* Pension
