Up to £430 per day umbrella
Long-term contract
The Site Operations Temporary Utilities Coordination Delivery Lead reports directly to the Utilities and Projects Service Manager and is responsible for the planning and coordination of all temporary utility application requests received by Site Operations.
Responsible for ensuring the efficient delivery of a singular but substantial support service in accordance with all safety, quality time and cost parameters to meet the needs of the HPC construction project and Associated Developments. The Temporary Utilities Coordination Delivery Lead will provide technical input and advice for their scope of work – and may be involved in all stages of the procurement, planning, implementation and operation of their key contract area.
The Temporary Utilities Coordination Delivery Lead is responsible for directing the safe, timely and efficient provision of the Utilities Infrastructure including Mechanical, Electrical and IT services in order to support a delay-free construction programme. Key to the role is being able to interpret the requirements received through the utilities application process and work in close liaison with Tier 1 contractors to ensure requirements are accurately defined and the scope delivered in support of a delay-free HPC construction programme.
The post holder will work closely with the Site Operations Utilities Delivery Leads to ensure the successful technical delivery of the construction utility services, in line with the relevant industry regulations and requirements.
Principal Accountabilities:
• Manage day to day the provision of a critical site support service to a construction workforce of circa 5,600
• Manage and be directly responsible for a specific service contract valued at circa £80m [full project lifecycle]
• Address construction engineering concerns and develop solutions.
• Be accountable for ensuring all statutory, regulatory and site controls are complied with
• Form effective relationships with their service contract partner and champion clarity, respect, positivity, humility and integrity
• Ensure the contract partners team are fully competent to perform their assigned roles – and that any shortfalls are reported to the Service Manager without delay
• Develop and implement plans to ensure service delivery meets or exceeds the expectations and project work schedule
• Ensure early intervention to avoid any escalation of issues affecting service delivery by working in the spirit of a ‘one team approach'
• Monitor acceptance of compliance works by contractors.
• Expedite timely completion of design and construction deliverables.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Essential
• Management [or leadership] experience in a service lead environment.
• City & Guilds - Electrical Installation - Parts1 and 2
• Technical experience and an understanding of 18thEdition of the IET Wiring Regulations.
• Technical experience and an understanding of British standards and regulations.
• Handover documentation for “as built” drawings and operation and maintenance manuals.
• Experience of working in a high security environment.
• Must be confident in own abilities and be able to deliver in a dynamic environment.
• Willingness to learn from both successes and failures.
• Proven experience within a large project environment.
• Excellent communication skills and able to strike up effective working relationships.
• Must be willing to work with our local supply chain partners in a cooperative way.
Desirable
• Experience and knowledge in Electrical and mechanical utilities distribution.
• 11kV/400V substations and distribution.
• Experience of working with and developing budgets.
• Recognised and certificated ‘Behavioural Safety Programme'.
• Recent IOSH accreditation [or equivalent].
