Your new role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Employee Communication Business Partner to join our Employee Communication and Engagement division (part of HR and Employee Communication directorate) on a 12-month fixed term contract basis.
The successful candidate can be flexible based in one of our UK offices. The role will be hybrid working, with a combination of office and home working. You will be required to attend the office at least 2 days per week.
You will be a BP for two directorates: Safety, Engineering and Standards (SES) and Commercial & Procurement (C&P) and will work closely with the leadership teams in those directorate(s) to deliver engaging communications that enhance and promote strategic and operational business priorities to support improved organisational performance, staff engagement and employee relations.
You will be part of a corporate team of BPs and will provide your directorates with strategic advice and guidance to ensure successful execution and delivery of key initiatives and change programmes, aligned to the wider corporate narrative and priorities. The ability to lead a project through its lifecycle to deliver innovative communication solutions while meeting deadlines and stakeholder expectations is essential.

What youll be leading on
Provide strategic communication advice and guidance to your directorates Executive Directors and leadership teams, enabling the delivery of engaging, meaningful communication.
Own and lead on the development of the directorates communication plans, working closely with the wider Employee Communication & Engagement team to ensure communication is aligned to the corporate employee communication objectives, effectively planned and delivers measurable outcomes.
Act as the account manager for your directorates and as an enabler of integrated employee communication, planning and delivery. Ensuring that communication objectives and priorities are clear, messages are consistent, and all communication is evaluated against agreed measures.
Provide check and challenge to the directorates leadership teams on timing of corporate communication activity, messages, channel, prioritising communications and targeting audiences appropriately.
Support the directorate leadership teams in the development and delivery of leadership employee communication: content for speeches and presentations, coaching, advising and supporting people managers to communicate effectively.
To be successful youll need
Professional qualifications CIPR/CIM or equivalentandeducated to degree level or equivalent in an appropriate discipline.
Demonstrable experience in internal communication including effective stakeholder management experience on large projects.
Superior communication skills on all fronts written, oral, creative campaigns, across all channels and mediums including digital and social.
Demonstrable experience in defining, delivering and evaluating communication strategies and detailed plans.
Exceptional organisational skills, combined with ability to prioritise and meet deadlines on multiple projects/tasks in constantly changing environments.
Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills and familiarity with project management/communication planning and content management system software/tools.
