Salary range: from £32,000 - £45,000 gross per annum depending on skills
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am 5:30pm (1-hour lunch)
Holidays: 25 per year plus Bank Holidays (rising with length of service to 30 days per year)

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Criminal Clerk to join our client and lead the busy Criminal Clerking team based in their beautiful building in Sheffield City Centre. This role sits at level 3 of their 5-step Clerks Job Family, with plenty of potential for further development.
As Lead Clerk for Crime, you will:
Be the go-to person for their Sheffield-based criminal practitioners for practice development reviews and updates;

Develop close links with existing and potential new clients in the region;

Have oversight of the day-to-day operations of the criminal clerking team; and

Line-manage your two more junior colleagues.

Youll be an experienced and confident Barristers Clerk, with significant recent experience of clerking criminal practice. To lead the team you will need to be confident in dealing with all aspects of barrister diary management using software such as MLC or Lex.
An excellent communicator, you will be able to form strong professional relationships with your members, colleagues and with existing and potential new clients. Experience in practice management and business development would be a distinct advantage but can be developed further in the role.
