Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Welsh-Speaking Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons in Welsh across various subjects to students of all ages. As a Welsh-speaking teacher, you will play a key role in promoting and preserving the Welsh language and culture within our school community.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in Welsh language and literature, as well as other subjects, ensuring alignment with the national curriculum and educational standards.
Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel motivated and empowered to develop their Welsh language skills and cultural awareness.
Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their academic growth and linguistic development.
Collaborate with colleagues to integrate Welsh language and culture across the curriculum, fostering a bilingual ethos within the school.
Engage with parents/guardians and the wider community to promote the importance of bilingual education and encourage participation in Welsh language activities and events.
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on best practices in bilingual education.
Qualifications:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Fluent proficiency in Welsh language (C2 level or equivalent) with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience teaching Welsh language and literature at primary or secondary level, preferably in a bilingual or Welsh-medium setting.
Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and pedagogical approaches for teaching Welsh language and culture.
Enthusiasm for promoting bilingualism and fostering a positive attitude towards Welsh language learning among students.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents/guardians, and external partners to support the school's bilingual mission.
