Job Description

Reporting to: Head of Digital/IT Operations

Location: Gloucester Head Office – Office based

Contract: Full time, permanent

Salary: £46,000 - £53,000 per annum (depending on experience) + benefits

The Company:

Pooky is all about beautiful, decorative lighting. Lights that look as though they cost a fortune, but don’t. Key to our success and drive is the service we provide our customers and our desire to win 5-star ratings, our legendary love of lighting and the fact that we are being used by leading designers the world over.

As an international e-commerce company, we recognise the responsibility on us to do what we do responsibly, ethically, fairly and with as little impact on the environment as possible. We aim to design products that will last, for their quality of build and for our avoidance of skittish fads.

We’re a tight-knit team of super-committed individuals who love what we do and who do it with a smile and a sense of humour. We are immensely proud of what we have created, and the most important aspect of that is the team that we have working with us, who provide a high degree of commitment, dedication, and loyalty every day, helping us to achieve the aims and objectives of the Company.

The role:

We’re looking for a passionate SEO Manager to join our growing team. This is a newly created and pivotal role at Pooky! As a proven SEO specialist, you will be responsible for driving organic search success for our ecommerce sites. You will improve technical SEO, focus on keyword targeting, and collaborate with development and content teams. Your expertise will optimise our content marketing efforts, ensuring continuous improvement and ROI maximisation.

Main responsibilities:

* Identifying areas of keyword focus and targets for Pooky’s ecommerce sites.

* Preparing reporting for Organic Search across Pooky’s websites.

* Identifying areas of improvement for technical SEO and liaising with development team and website administrator to implement fixes and improvements.

* Identifying areas of opportunity for content marketing and liaising with content marketing team to ensure blog content is hitting search goals.

* Partnering with the content and marketing teams and providing recommendations for organic SEO success.

* Working towards organic search growth, optimization, and ROI maximisation.

* Working with the ecommerce manager to identify areas of improvement for PPC campaigns based on organic search results.

* Managing internal search reporting and investigative tools.

* Keeping pace with search engine and PPC industry trends and developments.

* Managing the trading calendar and implementing sales strategies accordingly.

* Identifying opportunities for A/B and multivariate testing.

* Ensuring seamless customer experience and driving revenue generation by coordinating with the Website Administrator to optimise third party systems.

* Conducting market research and competitor analysis to keep up to date on industry trends and inform strategic decision-making.

What experience and skills you’ll need:

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated SEO specialist from either an in-house or agency background. You will have experience of both strategy and implementation of technical and content SEO. You will have extensive experience using SEO and SEM tools such as SEMRush or ahRefs, as well as reporting in GA4. Strong IT skills including MS Office, especially Excel, are required.

We’re looking for someone who is excited about working as part of a hard-working small team within a growing and ambitious organisation. You’ll be a self-starter who enjoys being hands-on and heading up all SEO duties whilst working collaboratively across the wider team. We’re seeking a methodical and detail-orientated person with a knack for relationship building and stakeholder management.

Ideally you will have previous experience of working for an international B2C ecommerce business. Experience in the interior design, soft furnishings or lighting industries would be beneficial, although not essential.

We are Gloucester based, so the successful candidate will need to live within an easy commute of the office and work predominantly on-site as part of our collaborative team.

The Rewards:

* A competitive salary of £46,000 - £53,000 per annum (depending on experience)

* Holiday entitlement of 25 days + bank holidays

* Extensive product discounts for the role holder and their family

* Enhanced sick pay

* Enhanced maternity, paternity, and adoption leave

* Free parking

* Free lunch once a week!

If you possess the experience, passion and attitude to make this role a success, then we would love to hear from you.

Closing date: Monday 13th May.

In-person interviews will be held at the Gloucester office on week commencing 20th May.

No agencies please.

If this role interests you, we’d recommend applying as soon as possible. This role is usually very popular, and we may have to close the role early if we receive a high number of applications to ensure we can still offer the best candidate experience
