Outreach Worker

Outreach Worker required - Watford and St Albans, Hertfordshire - September 2024 on a temporary to permanent contract - £104 to £108 per day - 8.30am to 4.30pm term time only

Do you have experience working in education settings perhaps as a teacher or as someone who has supported students? Have you worked with pupils who are struggling to perform at their best and are at risk of being excluded from mainstream education?

Tradewind is working with one of Hertfordshire's most successful Alternative Provision schools who is looking to appoint an Outreach Worker to support the 21-mainstream secondary schools the cover!

***Outreach Worker role - suitable for all qualified and experienced teachers

***Temporary to permanent contract -September 2024

***Roles available at two sites - Watford and St Albans

***H6 Hertfordshire salary on term time contract over 37 hours

Located across two sites in St Albans and Hatfield, this specialist Alternative Provision School offers first class education to children who cannot cope with mainstream education. This AP School also has a prevention team that attempts to support students at risk of being excluded from mainstream education via its Outreach Workers.

What is the Outreach Worker role?

Outreach workers attempt to help students that are struggling in mainstream education for a variety of reasons remain in mainstream schooling. This takes place in their own school, at their home and in the AP Schools care.

Who can be an Outreach Worker?

Successful Outreach Workers have good experience working in schools. They can be teachers who no longer want to teach, support staff in terms of Teaching Assistants or Academic Mentors or they can be from external agencies that work in schools. The most important part of the role is an understanding nature and the desire to help students regain their confidence and love of education.

35-hour week between 8.30am and 4.30pm - Term time only
