Freight Forwarder in Preston - Bis Henderson

Location: Preston
Salary: £25,000 - £35,000
Summary:
Our client, a well-known UK Logistics company are looking, due to significant investment and expansion, to grow their existing freight forwarding team to service their growing customer base.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and manage full, part load and groupage shipments, booking cargo space, and negotiating rates with carriers.
Build upon existing working relationships with established customer, leading to organic account growth
Dealing with existing and finding new hauliers to maximise profit share on work.
Dealing with inbound enquiries from new customers, providing quotes and solutions.
Full administration and communication to the customer from quote to delivery.
Using various freight exchanges and platforms.

Skills & Experience:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to build rapport with new and existing customers.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt quickly to changing situations.
A team player who can work collaboratively with internal and external parties.
Highly proactive with a keen eye for detail.
Strong negotiation skills with customers and hauliers to maximise profit.
