The School and Role

This small, one-form entry primary school in Rainhill, St Helens, are looking to appoint a strong and nurturing Teacher to work in a Year 1 class.  This is a full-time role, starting at the beginning of the academic year in September 2024 and will be ongoing, with the potential of it becoming permanent for the right candidate.  The school was marked as 'Good' in all areas following their last Ofsted inspection prior to COVID, and they aim to be an Outstanding school following their next inspection.  The school was built in 1955 and consists of two buildings.  Key Stage 2 has four classes which are all housed in one building together with a large hall for dining, PE and assembly, a kitchen, two large and well-equipped resource rooms, a library and IT room, staffroom and office space. 

The successful candidate will need to:

demonstrate excellent classroom practice and have the children’s learning at the heart of all they do
have high expectations of pupils’ achievement and behaviour
show commitment to high quality and effective assessment in order to ensure all pupils achieve their full potential;
have good organisational and classroom management skills
have the drive and determination to make a difference in all areas and through a commitment to the wider school community
be enthusiastic, flexible, creative and ambitious and up to date with recent education research and activity
work as part of a committed, supportive and hard-working team
promote the strong Catholic ethos of the school.
Requirements

The desired Teacher will have;

-          Hold QTS in the UK

-          Experience of working with primary school aged children

-          A passion for the progress of primary school pupils

-          Have, or be prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
