Regeneration Service Manager
Location: South Yorkshire
Rate: £650 per day (umbrella)
Contract: Temporary/Freelance

A Local Authority in South Yorkshire is seeking a skilled and experienced Regeneration Service Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the strategic direction and delivery of a diverse range of capital and revenue projects, playing a pivotal role in fostering inclusive economic growth within the region.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead and manage a team of project management professionals, ensuring the successful delivery of complex regeneration projects.

2. Act as a senior project lead, overseeing large and intricate capital projects and programmes.

3. Manage budgets effectively across various regeneration projects, demonstrating financial acumen and accountability.

4. Produce high-quality reports and communications, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

5. Conduct negotiations and procurement activities related to land, property, and regeneration initiatives.

6. Represent the Regeneration service and projects at a senior level, engaging with external stakeholders, Members, and senior managers.

7. Foster effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders, partners, and multi-agency teams.

8. Deputise for the Head of Service when required, demonstrating leadership and decision-making skills.

9. Support, manage, and develop the team to achieve optimal performance within the service delivery environment.

10. Work independently while effectively engaging with senior and junior officers to achieve common goals.

11. Prioritise workload effectively in response to service needs, ensuring efficient project management.

12. Possess knowledge of current Local Government democratic processes and understand the political context impacting project delivery.

Requirements:

* Proven experience managing significant and complex regeneration projects within an economic development environment.

* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.

* Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.

* Financial acumen and experience in budget management.

* Understanding of Local Government processes and political context.

* Track record of successful project delivery and stakeholder management
