Job Description

We are recruiting for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer (Continuous Improvement) for a leading manufacturer of innovative measurement sensors range.

The group has embarked on a growth plan, involving significant investment and continuous improvement. It has a reputation as a world leader in its field as a designer and manufacturer of high quality sensors.T

The Electronic range encompasses specialist level sensing, condition monitoring, position sensors and engine control products for the process control, utilities, off-highway, motorsport and defence markets. 

As a Continuous Improvement Engineer, you will play a crucial role in optimising the production process and ensuring the quality and efficiency of electronic products.

Hours of work: - 37.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday.

Hours are flexible and to be agreed, generally between: 8am - 4pm, or 8.30am - 4.30pm or 9am - 5pm.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a comprehensive continuous improvement strategy aligned with organisational goals and objectives.
Design, document, and implement processes to facilitate the efficient manufacture of new and existing products.
Provide communication and training on new and modified processes.
Lead and work on projects with multidisciplinary team members to ensure effective delivery of goals.
Drive the adoption of Lean Six Sigma principles and methodologies throughout the organization, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
Collect, analyse, summarise, and present production and process data, information and trends to management.
Estimate staffing requirements, production times, and relative costs to provide data for operational decisions.
Keep abreast of relevant industry advances and champion their introduction.
Ensure compliance with regulatory approvals, quality standards and similar. 
Essential Requirements:

Strong problem solving skills; able to diagnose and solve any issue within the domain of manufacturing engineering.
Degree qualified (or equivalent) in production engineering, electronics, or mechanical field.
Able to clearly communicate complex technical details and ideas.
Good commercial and financial understanding.
Desirable Skills:

A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a modern electronics, software and mechanical device manufacturing environment.
Certification and experience in process improvement (Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma).
Project management.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to effectively interpret data and derive actionable insights.
Able to write and edit in scripting languages (e.g., Python, AutoIt, PowerShell) and work with databases.
Strong interpersonal skills.
