Group Accountant

Location – Gloucester with hybrid working

Salary - up to £55,000 dependant on experience

T2M Resourcing are recruiting a Group Accountant for this highly successful and rapidly growing specialist services company.

This new opportunity has been created for a Group Accountant to take ownership of specific cost categories, group reporting and overhead departmental P&L for all divisions. In this varied role, you will take ownership of the analysis and subsequent reporting, working with the Management Accountants when required ensuring that information is accurate, and any variances justified.

The Group Accountant role will include:

Accounts Preparation:

* Prepare and post prepayments, accruals, depreciation, and amortisation for all Group Overheads.

* Manage the fleet control account, ensuring Divisional P&Ls are exact and timely.

* Ensure balance sheet working files are updated accordingly throughout the month end process.

* Take ownership of departmental P&Ls and reporting for various companies.

* Create monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

* Working closely with the Management Accountants to inform them of the month’s activity.

Cost Analysis:

* Review the P&L for activity performed and seek justification for any variances.

* Provide detailed variance analysis

* Provide detailed excel spreadsheet modelling for analysis for fleet costs.

* Preparation of accurate Group reporting, analysis, and commentary for Group monthly packs.

* Engage with the Finance Business Partners, providing insight into the results.

Additional tasks:

* Responsible for financial year end Group submissions and liaising with auditors

* Provide all information to Group in relation to statutory reporting and review of draft statutory accounts.

* Support the budgeting / forecasting process

* Drive continuous improvement and accuracy within processes & procedures.

To be successful in this Group Accountant role, you will demonstrate the following:

* Ideally a fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent) with at least 2 years’ experience gained in Industry,

* QBE/ part qualified will also be considered with the required experience.

* Advanced Excel skills

* Confident & engaging with the ability to discuss in detail all variances.

* Questions and where appropriate challenges to ensure continuous improvement.

* Strong organisational and analytical skills

* Able to demonstrate flexibility by adapting work in line with changing priorities.

* Knowledge of Sage 200 an advantage

* Power Query / BI experience preferred
