Job Description

We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Buyer for a leading manufacturer of innovative measurement sensors range.

The Electronic range encompasses specialist level sensing, condition monitoring, position sensors and engine control products for the process control, utilities, off-highway, motorsport and defence markets. 

As a Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for the sourcing, negotiating, and buying of a range of goods, materials and services. It will involve working with technical teams for component selection, the manufacturing team to ensure availability and quality and the commercial team to agree cost and commercial targets.

Hours of work: - 37.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday.

Hours are flexible and to be agreed, generally between: 8am - 4pm, or 8.30am - 4.30pm or 9am - 5pm.

Key Responsibilities:

Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with business requirements
Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicated ay supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations
Assess and evaluate tenders, quotations, and supplier capabilities, negotiate contracts and terms of business
Develop, build, and maintain supplier relationships and undertake performance reviews
Essential Criteria:

Proven Purchasing/procurement Experience In a Manufacturing Electronics Environment Essential
3 years minimum experience in procurement ideally in a technical capacity
Capable of reading and understanding 2D technical drawings
Experience using ERP/MRP
Experience working with product development teams and building effective relationships
Strong negotiation, analytical and problem-solving attributes
