Job Description

Masstemps LTD are currently recruiting for a full time programmer to join a busy metal business based in Worcester.

The role:

The Programmer will ideally have the following attributes:

* A minimum of 2 years experience within a sheet metal background.

* A working Knowledge of 3D software packages

* The ability to reverse engineer a new product and re-engineer the product cost effectively reducing overall manufacturing costs.

* Able to prioritise workload to meet deadlines.

* Keen passion for technology development with Manufacturing equipment, automation, and assembly.

* Continuous improvement, zero defect and customer focused mindset.

* Creative, engaging and keeping up with the latest future industry technology updates.

The Programmers Production role will involve:

* Develop processes to a production steady state standard that meets specification and design intent.

* Specify material requirements and define suitable methods of manufacture whilst identifying required tooling and equipment.

* Provide technical leadership to the production team, ensuring the delivery of customers product is accurate and to schedule

* Support the operations director in the development of the Annual Operating Plan, working to reduce Manufacturing Equipment costs where practical.

* Work collaboratively with internal teams (Cell Leaders, Operations, Quality, Sales admin, etc) including external contacts (Customers, Suppliers, etc), to ensure that Manufacturing developments are aligned with broader business goals and strategies.

* Create welding/fabrication manufacturing process sheets to reduce / prevent production errors improving customer satisfaction.

The Programmers Sales role will involve:

* Liaising with our business development executive, you will be a key point of contact for customers providing both pre and after-sales technical assistance/advice and give guide to our manufacturing processes aiding our customers decision to onboard with the business

* Work on after-sales support services and provide technical back up as required.

* Support our customers with the design & development of Jigs, Fixtures, simplifying our production processes.

* Use your technical knowledge to provide advice and support on a range of manufacturing processes from Tube and flatbed Laser Cutting through to welding fabrication cell for which a certain level of expertise is needed.

* Create, Bill of Materials using MIE -TRAK and CAD DATA in order to quote our customers satisfactorily.

* Calculate new customer quotations within Mie-Trak and follow up with the creation of drawings, Cad Cam Nests/programmes working closely with sales administration Team.

The Programmers CAD CAM role will involve:

* Produce official drawings from customers products / sketches etc where an official dimensioned drawing does not exist.

* Create DXF’s to satisfactorily produce customers products.

* Plan, organise and manage work plans for CAD team members.

* Provide guidance and direction to the CAD team.

* Initiate and maintain contact with clients for clarification, coordination, and negotiation of drawings and critical issues.

* Solving Design issues for and on behalf of the customer.

* Identify opportunities and recommendations for increasing workflow efficiencies.

* Continuously monitoring sheet utilisation of completed nests, create develop and implement key performance indicators measuring success.#

Hours of work:

Monday - Thursday 8am-5:15pm Friday 8am-1pm

Rate of pay:

Starting at 35k with increase after a successful probation period.
