Are you an experienced Service Engineer looking for the next step in your career?

Would you love to play a pivotal role in the team at the newly transformed Ford Transmissions site in Halewood?

Ford is investing £355m into the Halewood site to produce electric power units and Halewood will be the first site to manufacture EV components in Europe, commencing in 2024 with a capacity of 420,000 units.

Salary: £43,912.80 plus premium shift pay

Duration: Permanent

Hours: The plant currently operates days and a 3-shift pattern (Early, Lates, Nights)

Shift patterns can be changed based on business requirements.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Mechanical Level 3 Apprenticeship or Level 3 Lift Truck and Powered Access Engineering Technician Apprenticeship
Must have experience of working on combustion engines and vehicles including FLTs, crane, tow motors, floor scrubbers etc.

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Repair motor combustion engines and related power equipment.
Operate material handling and diagnostic machinery, ensuring efficiency.
Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning and lubrication.
Overhaul and test machines for optimal performance.
Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment, replacing damaged parts.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, using manuals and schematics.
Weld or solder broken parts as needed.
Test mechanical products to meet specifications.
Use diagnostic equipment to identify faults for repair.
Manage parts inventory and schedule maintenance.
Conduct preventive maintenance and analyse data for efficiency.
Take and analyse effluent samples as required.
Focus on machine improvement and root cause fixes.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives like Kaizen for safety, environment, and cost
Forklift and Battery powered vehicle operations and maintenance
