Procurement & Supplier Quality Manager

Location: Leeds / Remote

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000

Procurement and Quality Manager required for a large Automotive client in Leeds. This is a hybrid role, working from home 3 days per week.

As the Procurement and Supplier Quality Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the sourcing and procurement of components, materials, and services. You will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products at optimal costs. You will also be actively involved in the development of new products and help manage their lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of the automotive industry, strong technical foundations, excellent negotiation skills and a proven track record in procurement and supplier quality management.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and implement global procurement strategies and plans.

* Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers capable of meeting quality, cost, and delivery requirements.

* Negotiate favourable terms and conditions with suppliers to achieve cost savings, mitigate risks, and secure long-term partnerships.

* Ensure supplier deliveries reflect forecasts and schedules, and address (potential) issues as required.

* Work with suppliers to achieve and maintain quality standards, continuously review incoming product quality

* Analyse market trends, conduct cost-benefit analyses, and implement cost-saving

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams both within the business and within the supply chain, to optimise and improve operational efficiency

* Identify potential risks within the supply chain and develop contingency plans to minimise disruptions.

* Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and corporate policies.

* Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor procurement performance and supplier metrics. Prepare regular updates for senior management to communicate progress, challenges, and opportunities.

* Work collaboratively with the product design and development teams to manage the product lifecycle and to ensure continuous innovation and improvement of the product portfolio.

Essential Skills and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Operations, or related field. Business qualification desirable.

* Experience in Procurement, preferably in the automotive industry. In-depth experience in supplier sourcing and management.

* Experience in Supplier Quality management and/or Automotive Engineering. Able to read and interpret technical (CAD) drawings.

* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

* Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to make executive decisions when required.

* Familiarity with high-end automotive market trends and industry standards.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

* Full, clean UK driving license.

Pay, Benefits and working hours

* A basic salary of up to £80,000 per annum

* 20 days holiday + bank holidays – rising each year up to 6 extra days
