Job Description

Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Overview: We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our team in Irvine. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and continuous operation of building systems, plant, equipment, fabric, and grounds as part of our flexible maintenance team. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will be responsible for maintenance, repair, and minor project works within the hospital premises. This permanent position offers the opportunity to work primarily within the site while providing flexibility to support other units and local client sites as required.

Responsibilities:

Perform maintenance, repair, and minor project works, covering a wide range of fabric and equipment.
Undertake planned and reactive mechanical maintenance tasks, including AHU maintenance, water systems maintenance, medical gas maintenance, pressure systems maintenance, legionella control measures, and some minor electrical works.
Adhere to client rules for Safe Operation Low Voltage, Mechanical, Pressure, Water, Medical Gas, and Confined Spaces, as well as Scottish Health Technical Memoranda (SHTM's) and other statutory compliance requirements.
Participate in planned maintenance schemes, respond to unplanned events promptly, and ensure minimal failures to avoid financial penalties.
Produce Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and Permits-to-Work as necessary.
Complete all necessary works report sheets, test certificates, and task assessment sheets.
Use relevant tools and equipment safely and comply with client Guidelines and Controls.
Participate in on-call duties and maintain a clean and tidy work environment.
Undertake training as required for personal development and business needs.
Liaise professionally with clients, such as the NHS, and conduct business effectively.Qualifications and Experience:

Completion of a recognised mechanical apprenticeship is essential.
Minimum of 2 years of previous experience in a similar role performing mechanical maintenance duties.
Competency to work on building service systems and equipment relevant to the role.
Technical knowledge and experience to mitigate risks associated with maintenance tasks.
First aid training, including CPR, is preferred; otherwise, training will be provided.
Desirable to have knowledge of relevant Scottish Health Technical Memoranda (SHTM) and Permit to Work procedures.If you are a motivated individual with a strong mechanical maintenance background and a commitment to excellence, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding opportunity.
