Job Description

Our client, a well-known civil engineering main contractor, is seeking a permanent Project Manager to join the team in the Yorkshire region, covering projects in the East Riding, Rotherham, and Barnsley areas.

About the company: The company, with offices on the outskirts of Leeds, has been established for over 14 years. However, the group to which it belongs has been established for over 50 years. The Yorkshire office civils division has a turnover of circa £20 Million per annum and has growth ambitions to reach £30 Million by 2027, offering ample personal progression opportunities moving forward. The group of companies to which this office and division belong employs over 700 people and has a turnover in excess of £200 Million. It has specifically highlighted the Yorkshire region as the main area of growth for the company in the near future. Therefore, this is a stable, large, well-established business with clear plans of where it wants to go.

The role: We are seeking a permanent Project Manager who can oversee either one large civils project or a batch of smaller-sized civils projects. The company undertakes a broad range of projects including highways, public realm, structures such as bridges, water infrastructure projects (Spillways, large drainage projects, etc.), 278 and section 38. Jobs range from £500K to £15 Million with the average job being £2 Million in value.

The ideal project manager would come from an engineering background, have good NEC form of contract commercial awareness, be able to produce project plans, have a strong H&S ethos, and have a proven background in overseeing projects types listed above. We are seeking an applicant with a driving license, SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid as a minimum.

The role offers considerable progression to contracts manager in time, based on performance, and the company is well noted for its investment in its staff around further development and education.
