Lifting Appliance Engineer in Portsmouth - JAM Recruitment Ltd

I'm looking for a Lifting Appliances Engineer to join the UK's leading Aerospace & Defence organisation at Portsmouth Naval Base.
This role is fully onsite and you MUST be eligible for Security Clearance (SC).
What you'll be doing:
Operate Safe Systems of Work that comply with the company SHE procedures at all times.
Thorough examinations, maintenance, commissioning and defect diagnosis of Marine Lifts, lifting appliances and associated systems.
Apply knowledge, skill and experience in order to resolve issues and faults associated with the operation and performance of Systems.
Be able to work with technical autonomy and provide advice and guidance to other technical staff.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to less experienced engineers.
Be able to engage with customers and authorities in writing, by telephone or face to face to discuss technical issues and problems.
Support the wider Marine Systems Teams in their activities to maintain utilisation.
Produce detailed technical reports.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Thorough examinations, maintenance, commissioning and defect diagnosis of Marine Lifts and lifting appliances
Requires detailed technical knowledge and broad experience of Mechanical Systems, specifically lifting appliances and lifts, their maintenance, relevant legislation and inspection requirements
Needs demonstrable experience of maintenance and inspection of Lift appliances
To carry out scheduled maintenance, thorough examinations, Setting to Work, fault diagnosis and defect rectification
LEEA certified (nice to have)
The Test and Commissioning team:
Responsible for the inspection and maintenance of lifts and lifting appliances on board Royal Navy Queen Elizabeth Class (QEC) Aircraft Carriers, Type 45 (T45) Destroyers, Type 23 (T23) Frigates, HUNT class and any contracted tasking, ensuring work is to agreed standards and delivered in the most economical, logical and professional way.
This role would suit someone that has worked for another Aerospace & Defence organisation or has done this kind of role whilst on the Royal Navy.
The salary is £44,600 plus benefits.
