Job Title: IT Category Lead

Function: Commercial

Location: Hybrid/From any NHSSC Location

Contract type: Permanent  

Salary: £59,925 with the potential to rise to £70,500 over 3 years.

We have an exciting opportunity here at NHS Supply Chain for either a IT Category Manager looking for their next move or an experienced IT Category Lead looking for a new challenge.

As an IT Category Lead, you will coordinate the contracting of services for works, through the opening of competition by approved companies, ensuring the standardization of the proposals and documents issued by the subcontractor.

Every day you will … 

Manage a portfolio of contracts and negotiate service-level agreements. Will also plan, coordinate, and supervise activities relating to major contracts.

Plan and coordinate the identification, and elicitation of requirements; conduct analysis of those requirements for completion and alignment; document and manage requirements throughout the life of the project; and coordinate the verification of the end deliverable. Generally done at the project level.

Administer the rendering of services by the subcontractors such as schedules, inspections, measurements, and lawsuits

Participate in the selection of external consultants or advisors to deliver key projects and/or ad hoc services; ensure that business objectives and requirements are clearly understood and monitor outcomes, taking appropriate remedial action where necessary.

Communicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan within the team; explain the relationship to the broader organization's mission, vision and values; motivate people to commit to these and to doing extraordinary things to achieve local business goals.

Multiple stakeholder management skills.

Proven experience of Leading a successful team.

Ability to manage multiple projects at any one time.

Previous experience with an IT environment.

Previous experience in dealing with complex IT issues.

Organisation and time management skills

Demonstrable public procurement & sourcing experience

Experience of working in a busy fast paced environment with agreed SLA’s
