The Role:

The primary role of the Payroll and Finance Assistant is to process monthly payroll in accordance with UK regulations and the day to day financial administration of three entities.

Financial administration includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, creating and posting journals, balance sheet reconciliations and supporting the Financial Controller with month end management accounts and year end close.

What do you need to be successful in the role?

At least 3 years' experience working in an accounting department
Candidates should have reached AAT Level 4 Certificate
A payroll qualification is advantageous but not essential
Solid knowledge of UK payroll processing and software, preferably in Bright Pay
Computer literacy and accounting skills, preferably in Xero accounting system
Good knowledge and experience in Microsoft 365, specifically Excel
Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations and supporting with monthly management accounts
Ensure confidentiality and security of information and adherence to data protection regulations
Knowledge of accounting principles and financial procedures (knowledge of US GAAP is an advantage)
Demonstrable written and verbal communication skills
The ability to work well within a team and individually, using your initiative and autonomy
Solid organisational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking
Strong analytical skills
Excellent client-facing and Internal communication skills
Problem solving skills, with the ability to be flexible in your approach to work
A committed work ethic, with enthusiasm to develop your skills and a drive to learn
The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
The ability to adapt to changes in the work environmentResponsibilities:

Managing the UK monthly payroll preparation and processing
Administration of the pension scheme
Accounts Payable - processing invoices in accordance with financial controls, reconciling supplier statements, weekly payment runs
Accounts Receivable - raising sales invoices, credit control
Managing the employee expense and reimbursement process
Prepare journal entries for nominal ledger postings including accruals and prepayments
Daily reconciliation of bank accounts
Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
Daily reconciliation of bank accounts
Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and the year-end close
Support the Financial Controller with additional tasks
Ensure the company financial records and reports are maintained in compliance with company policies and proceduresWhat we offer in return:
